PPAC provides the Parent Support Worker as a supportive service with Waukesha County Department of Health & Human Services as part of a team. Specifically, the parent aide is to help prevent and reduce the abuse and neglect of all children by their parents.

The goal is to maintain family integrity and minimize the risk of child abuse and nelgect and out of home placement through development of positivie parenting and good role modeling.

The Parent Support Worker performs a variety of duties involving teaching, training of parents referred because of family violence issues, especially child abuse and neglect. Specific issues that are address include, but are not limited to, the following... teach nurturing and parenting skills, teach home management techniques, teach basic budgeting, teach good hygiene, teach family time management, role model positive parenting, self esteem, adult interactions, proper assertiveness techniques, advocate, and support families in crisis.
